The Optimist magazine published an excerpt from Chapter 8, “The Prophet Has Spoken,” in our book, The Psychedelic Gospels.  This excerpt includes stunning photos of psychedelics in Christian art, plus an interview with coauthor, Jerry B. Brown. It is in this chapter, which takes place in the Church of Saint Martin de Vicq in France, that Julie and I experience the “aha” moment that generates the Theory of the Psychedelic Gospels. This theory explores the role of entheogens (psychedelic plants that generate the divine within) in the history of Christianity.
